Omega and Champion, the two popular names in the juicing world. Even though they’re both masticating juicers, there were always major differences in how they operate. In the matter of Omega vs Champion, I’m going to skip a few things. The first one is the ease of cleaning. As a general rule, masticating juicers are always a bit harder to clean so I won’t be getting into that.
What I’ll be focusing on is how good the juice quality is, how well-built they are, and how long they take to operate.

Omega Juicers- What’s the Take Here?
Omega juicers have quality in their DNA. The long-lasting durability and impeccable performance prove that their juicers focus on every little detail when it comes to juicing.
Even though Omega doesn’t have a long heritage like Champion juicers, they managed to keep up with the industry by introducing products that deliver much better results than the rest.
But unlike they did release newer generation products making them even better optimized for squeezing out every drop of juice. Whether it’s juicing or processing, the versatility of these machines takes care of everything.
Before I jump into the detailed analysis, here’s a quick comparison between the top 3 Omega juicers-
Build Quality- Built to Last
Material- Stainless steel and Ultem
Dimensions- 14.5″ x 6.5″ x 15.5″(Omega NC900HDC/NC800HDS/J8006HDS)
Weight- 18 pounds(average)
Omega juicers come with a classic design with shiny chrome or matte finish that enhances the beauty of any kitchen setting. Built from a combination of durable stainless steel and plastic, the sturdiness is there.
As you can see from the chart, the juicers are nowhere near lightweight. With an average weight of about 18 pounds, the juicer can eat up a good portion of your countertop. But turns out the weight actually helps the juicer stay stable at all times.
The newer models like the Omega NC900HDC sports a carrying handle that almost blends in with the juicer. Other than that, it comes with a 1.5”x2” chute feed with a reverse function.
Performance- Heavy-duty Robust Motors
Motor- 150-watt(Omega NC900HDC/NC800HDS), 200-watt(Omega J8006HDS)
RPM- 80
Omega juicers have heavy-duty that are made to last a lifetime. Although most of the models come with a 150-watt motor, the Omega J8006HDS stands out from the rest with its 200-watt motor. But as it’s an older model, it comes with a smaller chute feed(1.5”) with no carrying handle.
With the help of the dual-extraction process, the Ultem auger(8x stronger than regular material), is capable of anything from squeezing out juice to crushing ingredients. And not to mention it has food-processing capabilities(except the J8006HDS).
Nonetheless, when you put it up against a fight with Champion juicers, it is rather slow in performance. All Omega masticating juicers spin at 80 RPM resulting in a longer juicing time. But at the end of the day, the juice quality triumphs over everything.
Juice Quality- The Best in the Business
Omega juicers with their Ultem auger and the dual-extraction process combined with the slow RPM delivers the best clear juice in the masticating juicer world.
The unique extraction process makes sure the pulps are as dry as a desert. To put a cherry on the top, it features an adjustable cap with 5 different pulp settings.
Whether it’s soft leafy greens, thin wheatgrass, or firm grapefruits, these juicers have an impeccable juicing performance with a high juice yield.
As the juicer maintains a slow RPM of 80, there’s little to no heat build-up and oxidation, meaning the juice stays clear with no pulp and froth.
On top of that, the containers are made out of BPA-free Tritan, which also helps in preserving the juice for up to 72 hours without losing any flavor.
So, Should You Go for It?
There’s no denying Omega makes one of the best cold-press juicers out there. You get nutrient-filled juice that lasts a long long time. Moreover, 6th generation juicers such as the Omega NC800HDS.
Overall, these juicers are full of value for money. While there are cheaper juicer brands out there. But their versatility and durability are nowhere near.
Champion Juicers- Did They Keep Up with the Competition?
Since 1955, Plastaket Manufacturing Inc. has been making the Champion Juicer maintaining top-graded juicers. The long-lasting juicers are made to last no matter how heavy-duty the usage gets.
With its powerful 540-watt motor spinning at 1725 RPM, this masticating juicer gives you clear juice in a remarkably short time.
However, Champion juicers fell a little short on the competition. If you’ve looked around, you know they haven’t launched that many models over the years.
While the Champion Classic 2000 Juicer is undoubtedly one of the fastest masticating juicers in the market, there are a few problems they need to note down.
Build Quality- Simple and Sturdy
Material: Food-grade nylon and stainless steel
Dimensions- 17 x 7 x 10 inches
Weight- 23 pounds
Champion juicers don’t leave any sort of doubt in their build quality. The outer shell is made out of ultra-hard food-grade nylon. Unlike the Ultem auger of Omega juicers, the blades sport a stainless steel build.
Similar to Omega, the use of premium materials guarantees the juicer will last for years even with regular extensive use.
If you don’t know your way around a masticating juicer, the first time can be confusing. But not with Champion juicers. The easily detachable parts are easy to handle and you don’t need any prior experience to operate.
Performance- The Most Powerful Masticating Juicer Out There
Motor- 540-watt
RPM- 1725
Before I start, you should know that the only product available right now is the Champion Juicer 2000, so I’ll only be talking about that.
When I said it’s the most powerful masticating out there, I meant it. No other masticating juicer comes with a whopping 540-watt motor that rapidly spins at 1725 RPM.
Most juicers out there stick to an RPM of 60-120 RPM. On average, Champion masticating juicers are 21 times faster than regular juicers.
Even though sitting at 1.75-inches the chute feed isn’t as big as Breville juicers but you still get to save a lot of time with the fast-spinning motor.
Juice Quality- The Higher RPM Can Mess Up Sometimes
This is where you see most of the difference. As I’ve already explained, Champion cold-press juicers are a lot faster than other juicers.
However, it’s not that good at making juice from soft greens or wheatgrass. Give it some firm fruits and vegetables, it’ll handle like a dream. But similar to centrifugal juicers, anything soft and fibrous is a big no for these juicers.
Nonetheless, the juice quality is far better than centrifugal juicers but not as good as Omega juicers. If you want somewhat pure juice but you don’t like waiting for it, a Champion juicer will be your best friend.
Are Champion Juicers the Right Choice for You?
Hardcore juicers and juice enthusiasts settle for a masticating juicer when they have no problem putting in the time and effort. But juicers like the Champion Juicer 2000 slash down on the juicing time while maintaining moderate juice quality.
So, ask yourself, do want a faster juicer where you sacrifice the quality of the juice? On top of that, you can forget about juicing wheatgrass if you get one of these.
Omega vs Champion Juicer: Which One is Better?
Omega juicers offer better juice quality but they take longer to squeeze out the juice. Whereas Champion juicers with their 540-watt motor spinning at 1725 RPM delivers the juice 21.5 faster. However, you have to take a toll on the juice quality, and not to mention, you can’t juice wheatgrass with them.
Factor | Omega Juicer | Champion Juicer |
Type | Masticating | Masticating |
RPM | 80 | 1725 |
Motor | 150-200-watt | 540-watt |
Juice Quality | Little to no pulp and clear | Pulpier juice with more quantity |
Juice Yield | High | Moderate |
Wheatgrass Juicing and food processing | Yes | Yes(but you need to buy separate attachments) |
Chute feed size | 1.75” x 1.75” | 2” x 1.5” |
Cleaning | Easy(comes with included brush) | Easy(doesn’t include a brush) |
That was the short summary but as you can guess there’s a lot more to the story. And there’s no better to wrap it up than with a pros and cons list-
Omega Juicers
Pros
- There’s no compromise in the juice quality
- Whether it’s soft greens or hard fruits, they’ll work with anything
- Works as a food processor apart from being a juicer
- Comes with modern features such as reverse function and automatic pulp ejection
- You can set the pulp according to your needs
- The motor operates silently
Cons
- Takes a lot of time to juice fruits and vegetables
- You need to cut the ingredients into smaller pieces
- You can’t push too many things down the chute feed at once
Champion Juicers
Pros
- These juicers are built like a tank so no tension about durability
- Makes juice much faster than regular masticating juicers
- You can make a lot of juice with moderate juice quality
Cons
- It was designed in the 1950s
- There are more oxidation and froth on the juice
- You need to buy separate attachments for juicing wheatgrass or to use it as a food processor
- More expensive than Omega juicers with less value for money
Final Verdict
So, that’s a wrap on Omega vs Champion juicer. If it were up to me, I’d always go for Omega juicers. They offer more value for money in the long run and most importantly, they’ve been making their juicers better with little tweaks over the years.
Champion juicers might juice a lot faster but the juice quality is not up to mark. On top of that, they were built in the 1950s with no change in the design to this day. You might think the machine has a better build quality but you’re losing money in the long run as you have to buy each attachment separately.
